Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone, Im wondering how many of you have had problems with erosin or slippage and how long you had your band before you had a problem? They have said problems are minimal but I see alot of erosions on this site. Also after erosion and band removal did anyone gain there lost weight back? Thanks for your imput.:)

It seem like people are a lot more likely to post if there is a problem. So you will read the good and the bad but when something "different" than expected happens we come to the Board for information and support!

I know there are others with a lot more knowledge than I have. I kept reminding myself how much damage all of this "FAT" was causing to my health.

I think you will get alot of feed back on this subject!! There are a lot of people that have had problems on LBT and there are also alot more of us that have "SO FAR" had really great results with our bands...even the ones that had band removal had great results with losing their weight while the band was available to them and alot are still doing good flying "SOLO". I think the biggest question we all want to know is Exactly how permanent is this band of ours???Whats the very longest we are expected to keep it?? These to me are questions that still go left unanswered and could be for a long time to come!!! Just take care of your band and use it the best way you can !!! Never take it for granted!! Follow the rules and find that healthy you underneath!!!

I had my band for 18 months then eroded. Acutally we are not exactly sure when I eroded but at 18 months I had an Endoscopy and it was discovered.

Yes I have started to gain back some of the weight I lost. THat sucks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
