I want to cry. :(

Having a pity party for myself right now. I'm only a week out and I just feel awful emotionally. I am afraid I made the wrong choice. I'm upset with myself for not just sticking to a flipping eating plan, because I am good at losing weight, just not good at maintaining weight. I could have done this myself! Why didn't I? I should have had some counseling instead of surgery.

My stomach hurts today and I can't eat anything, don't feel like drinking anything. I am so afraid I am going to be one of the ones who will have tons of problems or can't eat lettuce, etc. I am wishing I could rewind a week ago and decide that I wasn't going to get the band.

Did anyone else feel like this? Did you get over it? Did you feel better later? Any support or encouragement would really be appreciated.

If you feel like crying, cry! Get it out and move on. By now I hope you felling better. The band gets easier with time. Happy New Year!

I am 5 weeks out and after my 1st fill I had these regret decisions again. Just calm down it will pass. Everything will be okay. Give yourself some time and realize you have just made a life changing decision. It takes time to get used to it. But you will and you will be glad you did it.

I was banded on the 19th and I know what you are going through. Remember, you read about the journey of other people on here but everyBODY is different. There was a reason you chose this path. Maybe jotting it down, along with a couple of goals and placing it somewhere you can see it will help you stay positive. I know it's difficult. I am there now. I have highs and lows but I try to focus on why I did this. If you need to chat, let's chat. You are surrounded by friends here who know what you are going through. Keep that in mind.

Thanks again everyone. It was a new day today and I feel tons better ;)

I feel your pain. Its taking me some adjusting and alot of mental change/coaching. BUT what i did realize is that i would have never made these changes had i not been banded. Im doing a little better every day...

I remember crying about foods I would miss a few days after I had my band in, and wondering what I had done to myself. That was 60 pounds and 7 months ago.:) You're going to be great!

oh my. we both have something in common. i had my surgery the day after christmas and i asked myself "what have i done to myself". still wonder and i think i'm ok. i was afraid because i had- had a heart attack last year and have other health issues. so i can relate and this is why i am glad i found this page :) we will get through this and look we don't have to try to start on jan 1st like -i'd always try to go healthy. because we have started now :)

It gets better. Wait til u have restriction and something gets stuck! Talk about crying! And barfing.... :(

hi there, this being New Years Eve i want you to know that i was banded 1 year and 2 weeks ago (December 13th 2011 , weighing 220 lbs !), and by that New Years Eve i weighed in at 212 lbs !!! I thought , "it can only get better !" , and it did ! This New Years Eve i weigh 163 lbs !!!!! (Goal is 140 ) So hey, It DOES GET BETTER, SO FOLLOW YOUR DR.S RULES AND A YEAR FROM NOW YOU WONT RECONIZE YOURSELF !!!! ive gone from an unhappy, tired girl to lots of energy, happy with what i see and feel like, almost daily compliments, and today just bought cute Nike running clothes and cute sweaters in size 14, not size 18- 1x ! So, hang in there, take it a day at a time and you'll love it when your clothes start falling off !! Good luck !! BEST. DECISION. EVER .
