Omg failed fill!!

Recommended Posts

So I drove 3 hrs for a fill she poked my 8x and the fill was unsuccessful she couldn't find my port I feel like crying!! So frustrating! Can't get me back in till the 3rd of Jan and if they aren't successful then they will have to door under X-ray. Unfortunately they don't have an X-ray on site I would have to go to the hospital for that and can only do that in the docs surgery date:( I'm going to be so bruised in the morning!!

I am so sorry this happened to you.... Was it the Dr who attempted the fill...if not did you speak to the Dr while you were there?

Worse case.... just keep on your plan until you can get this resolved... it will make you feel better to continue to lose during all this drama!

how terrible...I casnt believ this is that person first time not being able to find the port he should have been able to call someone in. My first fill the new nurse poked me 2 times and then I asked to see someone else the doctor came in and did it...I was still swollen and you might be also causing the difficulty...could you call and make the appointment with the surgon?

So sorry this happened to you. I would definitely wait and do the fill under xray so there is no more searching around. This is only a minor setback, you can continue to lose weight without the fill if you focus on portion sizes. Put it behind you and enjoy the holidays.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
