I work a job where I get to walk a lot. I watch what I eat and I gave up bread and Pasta. Other than that' date=' that's all.[/quote']

That's a great start - really awesome. Can u believe that this winter you will come out of it heading into spring with a huge weight loss ?!! Very cool ... Giving up bread and Pasta which turns to sugar and creates big cravings is smart!

Good luck - Hope in Your Future is Power in Your Present !

Thanks man! I set a goal to make it through the holidays without gaining and so far I'm losing. I have a long way to go but every pound off puts me closer to freedom. Plus my wife is already noticing a big difference ;-)

Very inspiring we are all in this together. I LOVE your use of the word FREEDOM ... When I was 450+ pounds I felt (and was) imprisoned in my Body in able to do much of anything - connected to oxygen ... I would think ... Geez even people with a Life sentence in solitary get out of their cell to walk around/exercise an hour or so a

Week... Yet I CAN NEVER escape the prison of my broken body for even a minute

Life is different now !! Freedom is awesome : )

I was banded 9/4/12. I was 255 at my preop appointment. I had no pre op diet but was 251 the day of surgery. Today I am 213...41 pounds in 3.5 months. Amazing to me!

I track my food but don't stick to a strict calorie goal and I exercise 4-5 days a week.

Stacy, my hubby and I have done this together. I had my band in Aug 2012. He has his in Sept 2012. I started out with a 40 lb head start. (I know it's not a race, but seriously you do notice.) we are now even. Both of us are at 75ish lbs lost. It has been such a great journey for us as a couple, as parents, and as friends to others. The really cool thing is that we aren't even very far into this. I'm excited for you and your hubby to be able to do this together. I can't imagine any other way for us.

I'm getting mine done in Richland, Wa with Dr. Fox. His office has been great. I'm ready to start a new chapter. My husband is not getting banded but is super supportive. And "amen" to not taking anymore diet pills. Lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
