Oh I love SPRING! :hippie:

Sorry I missed you guys this morning. I want to see pictures.

The  sounds like a great idea for the 20th.

When I went to NJ for the batzmizpha(sp?) :kev: We had a horrible hotel experience. It made hair look good! Trust me you never want to stay in the Holiday Inn in Clinton NJ I don't want to write what was on the sheets, but it was BAD!

Well I'm off to bed:notagree . Kathy a friend of mine may be calling you she maybe going to MX to have the band and I believe she is going to use your Dr. I hope you don't mind I gave her your #.

Kim, Can you still do lunch. I have an appointment on Monday at 11 right on Randolf. If Bobbie is in maybe the 3 of us could go. Let me know.

Happy April!!!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Awww, you are so sweet!!! It's hard to believe it was a year ago. I love my band. I did the Dog food thing at the grocery store the other day. I usually find a 38 pound bag, but this time, I found a 50 pound bag! OMGosh!!!! That thing was heavy! I have lost about 60 pounds in 2 years. 20 on my own, 40 with my band. How in Heaven's name was I able to carry all of that extra weight around?!! It blew me away anew!

It's fine to give your friend my number. I'll be glad to talk to her!

No pic from today! I thought about it as I pulled out of the parking lot. Kim had to scoot out for Curtis' party and me and Melissa talked a bit, but we never took a pic! Shucks! We had a nice Breakfast though.

Happy April everyone! I'll have my 9 year wedding anniversary this month, too. Lot's of celebrating, and Easter, too! Here's to a wonderful April. No more illness, no more frumpies, happy marriages, healthy frindships, and consistent weight loss for everyone! Yay!

I love your idea of "No more illness, no more frumpies, happy marriages, healthy frindships, and consistent weight loss for everyone! Yay!

I never thought of the dog food bags! What a great idea!;)

I had Breakfast and nothing else so far today. I may be going out to :hungry: with my GF. But I"m starving! So I'm having my "healthy snack" triscuits cheese and 2 sugar free sweet pickels. Believe it or not it tastes really good.

Anyone have any new snack ideas?

Ok so it's April I am scared today I have to go almost 20 days with out health insurance. SO we have to be healthy...Keep us in your prayers. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just Mike and I.

Dianne I can do lunch...tomorrow starts our first full week of clinic in our office. So tomorrow if our first Monday. I am excited. I don't think we see patient until 3 so give me a call...you have the # to the office. ;)

We had a blast @ Curtis' birthday party yesterday. It turned out great. The kids are SO much fun to watch. They were all over the place. I got some good pictures. I will try to post some here soon...It takes me a few mintues to figure this out.

Ok so it's April...it's going to be great. I just love the weather, I have had the windows open all weekend. It's so nice to get some fresh air in the house. Get the stale of winter out of the house.

Ok it's late...well not really but I am tried and I have to go and flip the laundry.

Talk to you ladies later.

Went shopping for Kristen's social dress. Didn't exactly find one. Everything was either too dressy or didn't meet dress code (can't be halter top or spagetti strap kind) She did find an awesome dress though and I went ahead and bought it. Its a navy blue asian dress. Very Kristen. She can wear it to our cousins wedding in June if nothing else. Then I got crazy and bought some bathing suits (two piece things) to wear for tanning...but now wish I hadn't of bought them. Wonder what the policy on returning is if they still have all the labels? I've returned bras to target so would think bathing suits would be the same? Going to find out tomorrow i guess. Need to go get my blood work done...and since I have to go to my primary doc for that I'm going to see if he can order a mamagram too. I found two lumps in my breast earlier....I forget when are you suppouse to check them? Right after a period or right before, and does it really matter or is just to remind you to check them?

Melissa I think it does matter when you check them. I forgot why, but I know it's right after your period. I have those too I haven't been for a mam in over 2 yrs. dumb huh.

Kim I'll call you on my way to my appointment.

Have a good night everyone.

Okay Melissa, you are 35 so it's time for your basline mammogram. I had mine at 35 and they found a fibroadenoma (benign solid tumor) in my right breast. At 40, it had grown a little so they biopsied it, still a fibroadenoma so it's all good. Now I get mams every year. Welcome to aging! LOL Get that Mamo! Don't waste time, especially if you can feel your lumps. It's probably nothing but don't take chances! Post when it's scheduled cuz I'll be on your butt about regular Mamos, kay?! You, too Dianne!!!!

Hey Melissa, you better go get that Mamogram, or I will yell at your hubby!!! hahaha

Oh and dont worry too much about the actual mam, I had one 2 years ago cause I found a lump, turns out, My boobs have a lot of fatty tissue. (duh)

And it didnt hurt, didnt pinch, didnt feel like a car was running over my boob. Granted, it wasnt comfortable, not a nice feeling, but didnt hurt as much as people told me. I had mine done in Huntersville.

Happy April!

John and I have our 9 year anniversary too; it's this Wednesday ;)

I had a great visit with my brother and nephew. We went to Carowinds on Friday, and I managed to waddle around the park and ride for 5 hours!

John and I also got a little motorcycle ride in on Saturday. I admit to being a fair weather rider, and it was definitely fair on Saturday!

Oh everybody is having an anniversary.

We are having our 25th! on August 22nd. So we are going to Cancun for 8 days with the kids/adults.

I will get a mam soon I promise.

Tomorrow is my Dr appointment.

I brought a bell and hung it on the door. Lucy just went to it and rang it, so I let her out. I think it's gonna work!!! Better than barking to go out!

Ok- here's my 4 cents - My April is turning funky already. Things are hitting me hard. I didn't realize how hard mentally losing weight could be.

I love dropping it, but honestly, it's very new and i'm not comfortable with it yet. Plus, I gotta eat alot, it's like a job now. I'm not complaining.

I will be married to kid#2 for 7 years, we met in 11th grade, so he's all I know. Guys, I still haven't gotten birthcontrol method yet. I decide to take off next week and go get an annual and get some birthday control method. I'm still leaning towards one, but i gotta discuss my options.

Way to go everyone - Melissa a 2 piece? Wow. My stomach is too ugly from the lap's I've had to ever show it to anyone. I'd love a Tummy Tuck but that's not an option.

I'm gonna try to get with Karen and meet up with you guys. I might even bring Chloe if I can stand the stress. Parenting is such a hard job these days, kindergarten is going to be at the private school where she attends now.

We baked a cake tonight. I'm gonna eat some too, see I'm in a funk. I feel so deprived from the past 6 weeks. I guess I"m gonna allow a 'treat' from time to time. Something funky has happened with my heel too and I have some disorder with it. It's wrapped right now. Something with a planter I go back in 2 weeks.

Funky Jen

Oh Funky Jen I am so sorry you are in a funk...that was March we aren't suppose to have those right now. Maybe you can go to a support group and talk to other RNY people...it might help. I know on OH there is a group that meets in Gastonia...not sure how close it is to you. I am so sorry the lossing weight so fast is effecting you. I wish I could give you more advice but I am here for you...like we all are. We will listen to you any time...

Ok so I don't think I will be able to meet w/ ya'll on the 22nd. We are getting Curtis a new bedroom set and I think that is the weekend we are having it delivered....If not I should be able make it....

Ok something to throw out there for the Dr. V patients....we are going have an open day for band fills where you don't have to have an appt you just walk in and you will get filled. I thought it was a cool idea and he told me I could share w/ everyone. Not sure when it's going to start but thought it would be a good idea....you can come when it's convient for you. Ok so that is my little bit of info to add...he is really wanting to focus on the band..

Ok now there is an all girl gym opening in downtown, it's called Elements. They are giving discounts to bariatric patients. How cool is that. They are also wanting to hold at least one class a week for bariatric patients. So I thought I would share that also...not sure what the cost is yet but I know they do plan to open others up once this one is up and going.

Personal note...we are going to TN this weekend to see my Aunt and her family. I haven't been out there since I started my liquid diet...May of last year. She hasn't seen me since then...so I am excited to see what she thinks. We are going to shopping...so I am excited about that. I really need some new summer clothes.

Alright enough rambling....Hope everyone is doing well and will chat later.:)

We got another dog! :clap2:

Merlin, our hare-lip border collie pouted for two days after my brother left and took his dog, Gracie, home. So I/we adopted another animal rescue dog. I think we might name him Max. He's about 7 months old and is some kind of collie mix. He's like Merlin's blonde counterpart. I think he will be about the same size as Merlin once he finishes growing.

That's great Karen....I was thinking about getting another dog since I'm gone alot these days. Poor iggy looks so sad sometimes, he could really use a friend. We went by the pound just to look and they had a female samyoed mix, but it was in the stray just picked up kennel and not eligiable for adoption yet. They told us to call in 3 days to check on it, because if it wasn't claimed they would allow it to be adopted if it was eligiable. We called and they had already put her down. The kids were so sad. The staff person I talked to said she must have had health issues or been aggressive. She defiently was aggressive because when we saw her she looked sad. I need to find a samyoed rescue in the area. We really like the breed and would love to have a friend for iggy.

One of the lumps I found turned out to be a zit or something LOL. I haven't been to the doc yet...and I'm glad would have felt stupid. Going to watch the other one for a few days then make an appointment if doesn't go away. Imagine how stupid I'd feel. LOL

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
