I was taking the kids out for Halloween fun today. I think I may have over did it cuz now I'm in pain. I ate Soup before & sip Water and walk, no heavy lifting. I don't understand why I am in pain. I am 5 days post op.

you might have over done it, how far did you walk? Five days is not to early to walk around the block then build from there if you are ok. Hugs I hope you feel better soon if not call the doctor.

You're in pain because you're only 5 days post op. It's going to be 4-8 weeks before your body has fully recovered inside and out. At only 5 days post op, everything is still very wounded and raw.

You have to take it easy and give your body time to heal.

Yes, Soup is on my diet but really thin clear Soups. You were right lassie, I did over do it yesterday. It was a lot of walking. First I went to my child's soccer game then we went to a carnaval at the glacier. Then we went to another Halloween carnival at school and then took my oldest to her Halloween dance at her school. And topped it off with some last minute shopping and got home after 8 pm. When I got home I took my pain meds and went right to bed.

I am up this morning sipping on coffee thinking, "Why did I do that to myself".

Thank you friends. I feel much better today.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
