Weight Or Size?

Recommended Posts

What is more important to all of you? I am obviously watching the scale but I am probably going to base my success in the long run on clothing size and measurements. Does anyone else feel this is more important than the scale to them? I know it will be easy for me to pack on muscle when I get smaller because I did cheer dance and gymnastics as a you g girl and teen and I always had things like big butt and legs big like solid and muscle and would rather gain weight to get the. Tone back than lose weight and still look jiggly

I agree with you! Basing mine on size and clothing. I want to get to where I feel comfortable in my skin.. :)

It really is the best way to measure, if you will. Many people reach weight plateaus, yet drop in inches. Plus, some people get obsessive w/ the scale weighing so frequently and getting distraught if it goes up a pound. Sounds like you have a healthy mindset for your future success. :)

I tend to be obsessed with the scale. Bad, I know.

I agree 100%.. I rather see me lookin slimmer then the actual scale saying what weight I am. Just like she said about the plateaus yet you still lose inches. That is important. I have always been solid as well, as big as I am I don't have flabby lege /arms etc.. although once I start losing weight I am sure they will become that way! Imo I like to see both results but in the end.. measurements will win me over.

Feeling healthy is the best. Back aches, leg cramps and others go away with weight loss. So for me, weight loss is first, then the size will eventually get smaller.

I'm one of those that obsesses over the scale :( I weigh EVERY morning. I've done it so long that its become part of my morning routine. It really gets to me sometimes though and if the scale isn't "cooperating" with me I do get depressed or in a bad mood (there has been a few times that my hubby has hidden the scale from me) But for me I think it's a combination of both.... Getting to a certain weight and a size. But I'm not sure I will ever be happy with my size because sometimes I look in the mirror and I still see the same 240lb woman even though I'm down to 152 now.

because the scale is fickle and it goes up and down all day long, when you drink, eat, pee etc.....its hard to judge your true/actual weight on this. i feel judging one's success should be based on the inches lost. (if you are wearing smaller clothes, or are having to buy new ones because the others are getting too big, then by joe its working).

too many people are addicted to the metal monster and get their hopes dashed by the scale showing a (gain) when in fact they are doing just fine and who knows why it showed a gain. (Water weight, TOM etc).

i personally weigh in once a month at my dr's for my monthly follow up

i judge my success on my clothes and inches loss. and it def keeps me honest by knowing i got to go weigh in at the dr's.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
