I finally found something that helps me with my nausea. I know I only tried it one time ( last night) but for the first time since surgery ( 10 days ago ) I had relief.

I had nothing to eat or basically drink lol after 7 pm.

I had a rough weekend, followed by a NSV. So, I thought I'd share. In terms of roughness I am struggling a little with boundaries regarding the mushies phase of the diet. I probably ate something that were pushing it in terms of nutritional value. I chewed them pretty thoroughly 25-30 times a bite, but I knew they were things I shouldn't be eating yet or at all and still did. On the whole did I do myself any major harm in what I did? Probably not. Although it didn't feel great and although it wasn't a stuck food episode, my band definitely told me "hey! stop that! you can't eat like that!" I didn't eat a huge amount or really even stuff my face like I might have done in the past. My only real regret is that I should be more careful right now because I am healing still. And I don't want to strech my pouch or do anything that could cause me harm or affect my longterm success.

My NSV is a nice one. I woke up this morning and had forgotten to put in a wash last night. So, I thought I'd check my closet for old clothes that might fit now. I grabbed a pair of pants that I haven't worn for almost 10 years. They fit! I ironed them and put them on, confirming that I have lost 4 inches off my waist and although I am not yet in my 40's.....my pant size is. That's a race I thought I would lose. I'm getting closer to being able to once again walk into a regular store and buy clothing. I haven't been able to do that in years.

The change in my taste buds is driving me nuts!! I can't stand anything sweet and my coffee is gross....anyone else's taste buds acting weird?

You are not alone!! I am having that problem especially with Water and juice.

Current pre-op wt 344 down 335.9

I am' date=' I can't even stand the sweetness of the sugar free Jello. I guess I'm not the only one <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Same here... I used to be a coffee junkie and since surgery, can't stand the taste... I guess it's a good thing

What is NSV? Congrats on getting into old jeans! That is one of the perks. You learned a valuable lesson, no matter what your brain is screaming we ignore it and do it (eating something) hating ourselves. I'll bet you will wait and think next time. You will do great... Enjoy And Merry Christmas.

Lol!! They know that is nt right...

How are u feeling???

I'm sore today, I have a cramp in my side & my left shoulder is starting to hurt. I went for a walk - that just made me more thirsty. I can't get enough Water...and I'm afraid to drink too fast, for fear I'll stretch out my pouch.

As I understand it an NSV is a non-scale victory. Things like getting a "hey you look great!" from a co-worker or simply fitting into clothes from years gone by.

Merry Christmas dec foljs. I just want to make you aware without scaring the inportance of bowel movements, stool softeners, etc.

I am sure this wont happen to any one but this mornibg I was admitted to the er for fecal impaction. {think constipation x1000!}

I suffered at home from 9to 1, was in the er being helped not waiting from 1 to 7 am

My wish for you is be diligent, even tho I thought I was, and hydrate, and keep track of movements.

Xoxo

Omg I haven't pooped in a week!! I'm scared now! How did you know this happened?!?! My doc said no laxitives cuz it would dehydrate me!!

So important to keep track. Combination of several factors but thank you for posting so all the newbies can be prepared.

My doc said Miralax is okay to use because it's gentle and doesn't have harsh side effects...so that's what I use and I'm doing good...best wishes!
