maybe it's because your swelling has gone down! That's a good sign.

That's around the time I began to get hungry too. I think because your body had to adjust from surgery and your stomach has to adjust to the band, your appetite was confused. I am four days post op and my appetite is slowly starting to come around.

Thanks Phaither. I hope so!!

I started to get hungry at 4 days post op, my doc said that when the swelling around the band starts to go down, hunger will return...so I think it's normal.....I wish you well! :)

I'm 2 days post-op & my family wanted to have a family dinner at a steak house.

You need to pass on that for THIS Christmas. Take care of yourself.

Today I was starving too. Post op day 4. I actually had some cottage cheese and later, peanut butter to take the edge off. Seemed to go down easily...

The change in my taste buds is driving me nuts!! I can't stand anything sweet and my coffee is gross....anyone else's taste buds acting weird?

I am, I can't even stand the sweetness of the sugar free jello. I guess I'm not the only one :)

How are u feeling???

Since this is my second time around, I know a few things. Tastes will definitely change- a weird side effect of the band. Today I tried some lox (smoked salmon) which I usually love, and basically had to force myself to swallow it. So salty!! And tonight I had some peanut butter for protein and didn't enjoy it the way I used to. I don't know why our tastes change, but they do...

I'm having my band placed Wednesday December 26. Been a bit cranky I think it's my nerves. Only a few people know I'm having it done. Not to proud that I failed myself. But looking forward to shedding this extra person I've been carrying for the past 12 years.

Welcome Patty

I felt the same way. I was embarrassed to walk into the surgery center. Until I got home and that's when the reality set in.

I had to do something. I stopped myself before I gained another 100 lbs.

Be proud of yourself. We are all here together.
