Thanks I been up for hours just thinking about today. My surgery is at 8:30 this morning. Super excited!

I have to be at the hospital at 9, and it's about an hour away. I am super excited but nervous. Ready to start this new part of my life!!! I will update you when I can!

Interesting tidbit: my surgeon says that diet soda IS okay, so much so that the Christmas tree in his office is decorated with tiny Diet Coke can ornaments! Hmmmm...

Someone posted about blood clots' date=' my doctor never mentioned anything . Is there something I'm missing?[/quote']

Hi I'm a nurse and anytime someone sits or lies still for a long period of time there is a risk of blood clots in the legs. When someone has surgery the risk increases. You tend to lie in bed recovering, are less active. The recommendation is to get up and walk every hour while awake.

YEAH!!! So excited for you girls!!!

The rest of us are not far behind you … pave the way girls … this is the BEST gift we could give ourselves … health, happiness, and a fantastic new wardrobe for 2013!! Woot!!!! :D

Gals, don't get too worked up! If you don't get up to walk around often, then you run the danger of developing blood clots! As with any surgery! My rule (since I have had a few surgeries) is to get up once an hour! We will need to do this for gas anyway! I am starting to get anxious! I am on day 6 of 14 clear liquids! Doing good (haven't cheated) I have lost six pounds and the day after tomorrow is my pre-op! The 14th is around the corner!

Merry Christmas December bandsters!

You are so right! I have had numerous surgeries, but never have I heard such a fuss about blood clots until now. Ugh! I plan on getting up and walking every hour … I already warned my husband NOT to baby me … let me walk around!!! They also said that while sitting, our fee should be reclined … soooo then he can baby me!!

Oh and I told him that LOTS of foot massages would be helpful, too!!! Hahah!!!!

Me me! December 20th. So liquids for Xmas and I just don't care I'm too excited about the thought of losing weight! I'm in Australia but would love to stay in touch with the December Crew!
