Question About Fills

Recommended Posts

I have a 14cc band and I just had my 4th fill about 3 weeks ago. I am now at 7cc's. Is it possible that I can after two weeks really feel the resticrition. I did not feel it right away. I use to be able to have half of a whole wheat muffin and now I can not even eat any kinds of bread, Pasta or rice. I can feel it get stuck. I also have not been feeling so well. I am really tired and drained, I exercise every day but I don't feel like I am getting enough nutrition as I am only eating twice a day and very small portions. Which I like that is the point right?? However I need some tips on how to get all the nutrition your suppose to get. I can only eat soft foods which is fine with me but I feel like I am losing my appetite. Any advice?? I don't really have the symptoms of a slippage so I am not too worried about that. I just have not been feeling very well lately.

Yes it can take a few days or weeks for a fill to take effect. Plus other factors can tighten your band, stress, tom, sinuses, etc. I fine that after a fill I have to relearn how to eat, small bites, etc... Your bites might be small but are they small enough?

I eat Protein first if you are doing mushies, greek yogurt, soft cheese, tuna salad are all good choices.

Good luck.

Thank you. Yes I do have to re learn how to eat. I have been having yogurt that seems to be very soothing and it fills me up for the most part. Also I have taken a like to eggs. Have not been a huge fan but they seem to be really good and easy to eat:)

Sounds like you are doing it right. If you get to where you can't drink, call your doc don't mess with being too tight. It's not worth it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
