October 2012 Bandsters

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone, I'm starting this because we are mid way through the month so I'm guessing about half of us have had the procedure done. The October Bandsters thread has been really great with all the positive comments, suggestions and support. It would be great to keep that community going.

I'm two days post surgery. My pain meds are working fine. The surgery was easier than I expected and I hope the recovery keeps going as well.

How is everyone?

Hi guys! Hope everyone is doing well. I just bought a new set of storage containers (they're great) and I wanted to share. I got them on a one day 40% off sale, even though they're totally worth full price it might be worth checking to see if they run another sale.

This set included like 4 larger sized containers and all of the small ones are tiny! It's perfect for band sized meals (taking my chicken salad in a 'normal' sized container was looking ridiculous. I took chance beause it was hard to tell from the pics but all of those small circle and square containers are the perfect size. My (also banded) partner was making fun of me for being excited when I ordered them but she was impressed with them and we recycled all of our old ones.

Banded on the 24th. I have done just fine. Hungry is still not a problem for me. I just have to remember to eat. My husband had progressive vegetable soup yesterday and brought me just the liquid. Boy was it tasty. 1/2 cup takes a long time to spoon. But every spoonful was flavorful. I go for my first appointment on the 15th if Nov.

Banded October 10th. Feel like my appetite is back with a vengeance. Don't know if I did the right thing. have to keep the compression band on all the time or I feel like I am pushing out my port.

I'm hungry too.

Oh the hunger yes here it begins! I was banded October 5 and I am very familiar with hunger. Stick to your nutrition plan and the phase that you're supposed to be in as much as possible so you can heal properly. Just keep intaking little by little throughout the day and it will get better I promise.

Lol, I'm starting to think that I need to eat something right before bed. I'm awake... And so is my tummy! It won't shut the heck up! I don't wanna eat until at least 6 or 7! Usually later! Lol, I'm starting to get more and more hunger during the day, I'm still keeping it together for the most part though. These nights are killing me though. I'm about to get my butt out of bed and hope a jello cup will shut it up.

So today my steri strips started falling off' date=' tomorrow will be 2 weeks post-op. where my largest incision is at it is red and puffy and has yellowish stuff coming out. I called my drs office because i dont see him until Nov. 5 and the nurse took down a note but has not called back. Anything to be worried about?[/quote']

Hi! First of all good on you for making the choice to change your life! Keep your wound clean 2 or 3 times a day and clean it off with alcohol rub or witch hazel! Any sort of antiseptic then let it dry off naturally once it's nice and dry put neosporin on it do this every morning and especially before you go to bed every night! You have fluid build up which is normal you may have a slight infection in which your doctor will give you antibiotics the more the fluid comes out the quicker you will heal! The fluid is your body trying to heal the wound don't be alarmed! It may also have small amounts of blood as well also nothing to worry about! Just keep your wound clean and try to get as much air on it as possible! Another tip is once your wound is fully healed and the scar is red start putting bio oil on it this will help with your scaring and any itching! I think by the time you get to your Dr you will be in good shape! Keep us updated and welcome to your new journey on this path called life!! Well done for jumping on the band wagon!
