Pb'd Several Times This Afternoon And...

Is pbing self inflicted? When I get stuck I don't feel like I have to burp. i've tried jumping up and down, taking a sip of Water, nothing works. I stick my finger in my mouth and all of it comes right up. What is this called? It's not the same as traditional vomitting. The food is lodged in my esophagus and has not been digested in the stomach.

I'm not sure if I can answer this or not for you. When I PB food is lodged and it usually makes me salivate a lot, slime a lot and several times food comes up automatically then sometimes I will vomit forcefully eventually to get it all to come up at the end but not always. That's about all I can tell you about my experiences.

I have had things stuck from time to time I find drinking some soda does the trick something to do with the bubbles help dislodge anything stuck! Also I had to go to a nutritionist before I got my band and I was told drink 15mins before your meal as it clears the pathway then don't drink again until 20 mins after your meal! If you drink while you eat it's like a blocked drain! For some it pushes the food down to quickly and allows you to eat more remember it takes 20mins for your stomach to tell your brain it's full so take your time when you are eating!! This little tool will increase your weight loss! I hope this helps

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
