Recommended Posts

I too and interested in the answer to this question. I know when I am full, when it fills like if I eat another bite I will brust , wait that is over full I think! I have heard it is more pain than a feeling of fuliness.

Great Question Cindy!

I know in my opinion when I reached my sweet spot I just knew. I remember posting question after question asking but how will I know?? How long will it take?

It will come to the stage where food isnt constantly on your mind. You will eat a small amount of food and you will feel full rather quickly, it will also keep you satisfied for 4 hrs or so.

There are days when I will have a naughty day and eat chocolate, ice cream and lots of bad stuff. I think during these days that maybe my fill is disappating but then I get back onto the solid Proteins and realise that I still do have great restriction. No matter how much restriction you have you will always be able to easily eat chocolate and ice cream, remember that when you are working your way up to the sweet spot.

Good Luck

So the lesson is... stay away from chocolate and Ice Cream or at least eat them after a good solid Protein meal?

I actually think I can live with that which is good for me since for a long time my mindset was " I can't stay away from one food for LIFE..." but if I just have to eat decent first I could live with that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
