Not Sure If I Need A Fill.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I was banded on 8/29 and have my first fill app Thur. I'm not sure whether I even need a fill or not. I feel like I eat a lot but when I look at my food log, I don't go over 1200 caleries and I feel satisfied with a Cup of food. I do however tend to snack in the evenings, but I'm sure some that's head hunger. I stay full for about 3-4 hours. I know I'll talk to my dr. Just curious for some opinions :)

I was at the same stage as you two weeks ago and wasn't sure if I should have got anymore fill but after discussing it with my fill doctor she put in . 3 and it was enough to make me loose interest in the night time snacking urge.

Now I need to be extra careful to get enough calories in through the day as I easily go up to six hours not feeling any hunger and if I'm out all day and distracted I actually forget to eat as food doesn't even enter my mind.

The doctor will probably put a fill in anyway. To lessen the chance of over eating, especially at night.

Your doctor will probably keep giving you fills until you are in the "green zone". That's what mine did and it really has been great staying there....not hungry all of the time, feeling restriction, losing weight, etc. You will know when you are "in the zone!"

I know this is an old post, but I have yet to get the band. And... this gives me a lot of hope that it will work. I thought you just have to fight the cravings and diet like mad, that it would just make you vomit(which in and of itself is plenty incentive not to overdo!:), but this sounds wonderful. To forget about eating. I think about not too much else! WOO HOO! I dont even have my first dr appt till next wednesday, but have been reading about it.Im wondering what to expect, and skeert! Sandy

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
