Recommended Posts

I am so excited that tomorrow is my surgery! Finally! I have made all the preparations (I think) and starting to get a wee-bit nervous.

Congrats! I'm so excited for you! I am 7 days post op so far and I feel great! Today was the first day I didn't feel like I needed the pain Meds and the gas in my left shoulder is better too! Don't sweat it ! I feel better now than I did getting my wisdom teeth removed! Good luck and word of advice dong weigh yourself for at least a week! Let your fluids come out and the gass get released and your swelling go down! I made the mistake and noticed I gained 4 lb but now I'm finally down!

What prep did you do? And how are you feeling post op? Wish you the best.

I did the two week all liquid Protein diet (mostly Slim-fast drinks and Atkins Diet Drinks), two days before began the cleansing wash and Listerine mouthwash.

I arrived at the hospital at 6:15 am, was taken to pre-op at 7am, and surgery by 8am. Left hospital by 11am.

I actually feel decent. I've been up and about every two hours to walk around my home and do a few light activities mainly because the gas has settled under my left shoulder blade. By doing so, the gas has subsided. Important Note: I've taken my Phenergan and the Lortab elixir right on time.

We'll see what tomorrow brings !?!

Joanna

Surgery went well. I showed up @ 10:30am and was out by 2:30pm I think. Having a rough night tonight, pain in stomach and shoulder sucks and nausea. sleeping on your back sucks! I have been waking up every hour or so. Trying to get sleepy so I can go lay back down.

I slept well, however woke up at 6:30am in major pain and extremely nauseated. My stomach feels like I've done 1,000 crunches! I may have over done it yesterday. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
