Freezing

Recommended Posts

Since becoming type 2 diabetic, I would sweat like a lady of questionable morals in a place of worship. ALL THE TIME! Now that I'm down 50lbs and my blood sugars are very normal (even for a non diabetic) I am freezing all the time. I'm not gonna lie. I'm enjoying it!

Add me to that list. I was never diabetic but still know what you mean. I'm cold all the time!

I can completely relate! I had the same problem and absolutely hated it! Sometimes I'd look around (social situations) and think, is anyone else dying in here? It is so damn hot! But no, everyone else was carrying on as if the temperature was perfectly fine, and it probably was! Type II diabetic also, and off of every single insulin shot and oral medication ever since my pre-op liquid phase! So amazing! You must be as elated as I am. I totally agree with you, I'd much rather be chilly than hot! :)

I am not diabetic but I was always hot. Now it's comical. I take a light jacket everywhere because I am always freezing, I even had blood work to make sure nothing was wrong. Lol

Who knew thin people are cold all the time ? Enjoy it!

That's crazy that there are a lot of people feeling the same way. I have lost 78 LBS and I am cold all the time. At work I am having a war with a Coworker. When I get to work I turn on the heat and then as soon as she gets in on goes the AC. I am glad I'm not the only one freezing. I also have to say this is the first summer in a long time I really enjoyed the hot weather.

I'm no where near being slim and still have plenty of blubber to melt away and I too have felt freezing these last few months. Sure it's been winter but our winters are so mild here and I'd always be in short sleeves and roasting. This winter I've worn up to four layers of clothing even with the heating on.

This is actually something I hope happens for me! I feel like I'm cruising through life with a flippin down comforter on! It doesn't help that I live in the So Cal Desert!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
