40 Pounds In 8 Months And Frustrated

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Dec. 21st. By April I had lost about 40 pounds. I have no pretty much stayed the same give or take 3 pounds up or down for the past 4 months. I walk 10-15 miles a week and I try to eat right, however, I don't always make the right choices. I have 7cc's in my band and go for a fill on Oct. 2. Since my last fill I can finally feel some restriction. If I don't chew well or eat something I shouldn't, it gets stuck and it is very painful. Sometimes it comes back up, but more often then not I just have to wait out the pain. I have this fear that I won't lose anymore weight now that I have stayed the same for 4 months. The only thing I am guilty of is I do not take my Vitamins and drink enough Water. Any suggestions or similiar experiences would help. Thanks!

I was banded a month before you and I've only lost 50 but I shouldn't say only. I'm very happy with my weight loss but the last 10 have been very difficult and have taken about 3 months and a lot of biking and exercising. I bike about 70-100 miles a week and also do intense exercising along with some racquetball. If not for the extra exercising I don't think I could have lost any weight.

I had some saline removed about 3 months ago and I'm just a little out of my green zone now. Sounds like you're not there either? I think after the Holidays I'll get a small fill and try to get back into the green zone. You may only need a small fill of maybe .25 cc or less to get there. It makes a big difference. And, walking is good but it's not going to make you lose weight like you want? I'd recommend you find a gym or some way to break a sweat and get your heart rate up to 140+ at least 4 times a week.

I eat about 1200 calories a day. Sometimes less.

I had the same problem. I was eating 1000 cal roughly, and 60 g Protein give or take.

The problem being I was eating deli meat, bacon, high fat ground meats, etc. Because they are easy.

I started fresh in July; and now trying to eat more fish, chicken ( can't eat white meat, it gets stuck) lean pork and lean ground meats.

I am still losing very very slow, but I have an injury and cannot get my heart rate to 140. As long as I am not gaining, I will take the slow loss. Maybe it means it will not come back.

Good luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
