I just woke up in the middle of the night and I think I feel hungry... I was on all Clear Liquids day before surgery, surgery 9/4, and all clear liquids yesterday. I am supposed to be on clears until next tuesday according to my case manager. I am drinking Isopure for 40-50mg protein/day.

Just wondering if this is a common experience and if the hunger passes? I don't know how i'm going to make it till tuesday. Thanks,

I was hungry on day three, but it's very important that you continue the Clear Liquids. Make sure to drink all of your Protein and if you are feeling hungrier, drink some more. Also, sometimes being dehydrated can feel like your hungry, so make sure you are drinking enough liquids in general.

I see you wrote you think you are hungry... just because you now have a band Doesnt mean your head has chamges they didn't reset your brain. Although that would be so helpful! Lol We have all had problems with obesity and over eating that's how we got here!!

I promise you will be just fine your head is just stickin to old habits. it takes a little time to adjust to the change. It took me a while to know when I was really hungry or if I was still just thinking I should be eating because that's what I normally would have been doing.

I had the same problem. I made it until day 5 and I was dying. I was drinking my Protein, but it wasn't raising my surgar level. I was having fainting spells. I called my nutritionist and she told me to try very thin applesauce or plain yogurt - just a little bit - that really helped me. But I would recommend you speak to your doctor or nutritionist about it if it gets to bad.

Operative words here was I think..... it is not your head that dictates hunger in thin people it is their stomach and you will be surprised at how little it needs to feel full.

In people with weight issues they think they are hungry, they think they might get hungry so they eat........... They eat because it's time , they eat everyone else is eating, they eat because they are sad, they eat because they are happy and on and on.

You h ave been given an opportunity to meet and learn your own body on a different level............. learn to listen to it, learn to love it by giving it what it needs .. not what you THINK it needs. In time when success is part of your life you will know what your body is telling you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
