That's fantastic! Your team works fast I am done with pre-op testing and just need my final doc visit!!! Then 2 weeks liquid and Protein shakes. I'm getting so anxious, but in a good way! I want to get started instead if just talking about it. Good luck to you with everything & I'm sure we will meet on here again. We are being banded around the same time. :) Hurray!

Great news! I had to attend a weight reduction seminar by my doctor, and a dietian weight seminar spaced 1 month apart, plus a Physc evaluation as well as the lab tests.

Congratulations! Banded Aug 6.

I, too, had my pre-ops. One more weigh-in, consents and, of course, insurance approval to go!!

We are getting so close everyone!!!

I wanted to post yesterday once I got home but my computer monitor Is on the fritz, and I want feeling so good after the upper gi. Ask the testing went fine but I have to say having the upper gI was the worse part. Those things they make you drink should be outlawed. They are awful too say the least. I'm glad that's behind me. I'm waiting for thursday to meet with the surgeon one last time before surgery. I'll keep you posted.

Sorry for the incorrect words on my post I'm sending my response from my Iphone and boy is it touchy. That's what happens when your monitor doesn't work lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
