The Countdown Has Begun!

This Friday is my big day!!!! I am so excited!!! I need to do some shopping this week and get stocked up. I have to do Clear liquids on Thursday so I'm going to make some yummy homemade chicken broth. (always better than store bought)

I took all of next week off and am preparing done small craft projects to keep me occupied during my recovery. I know I'll get bored with TV/movies/Internet pretty quick.

I just can't wait!!!!

I enjoyed the prep :) I got books and simple projects ready and accomplished quite a bit while I was off. Don't forget to enjoy sleeping, too!

On Clear Liquids today, which actually isn't too bad. I have a bad cold, so that is the worst part. I'm hoping my cold doesn't present any issues tomorrow morning!! I'm going to get plenty of sleep tonight and hope its not as bad in the morning.

My surgery is tomorrow too. Sounds like our weeks have been similar. Lots of shopping and prepping. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you do. It's a big journey and so nice to have others going through it at the same time. Get some sleep tonight!

I did it! I was banded this morning at 9am, discharged by 1:30pm. Came home took a 2hr nap and now I'm working on my first Protein shake while watching a movie.

The worst part was the IV. My veins hide and are very small, so had a whole team working on me. I was also incredibly emotional....crying and everyone was concerned. The entire staff at the hospital was so wonderful.

After the procedure, I felt great. My pain never got beyond a 3. I have some slight shoulder pain and nausea.

I am so pleased with everything so far!!

I'm glad you're doing so good! I really enjoyed my first couple days... sleeping, movies, relaxing. The annoying part comes in a couple weeks when you feel pretty normal but have to remember not to lift, twist, push/pull anything over 15 pounds lol. Glad you're doing well!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
