Never Had A Fill And 10 Momths Post Op

Recommended Posts

Was banded on October 7th 2011 and I'm down 61 lbs. I'm 10 months post op, and never had a fill yet. I don't understand how come people are getting fills every month. I feel that I may be ready for my first fill because I've reach a plateau and I'm not losing weight. I can eat more and I have to really fight the cravings. I've also gone back to liquid to get myself prepared for my first fill next week. I need to exersice more, but haven't found the energy. I'm not gonna give up! But is it ok not to have a fill post 10 months surgery, I'm just wondering!

I was just going to post about getting a fill. I'm 6mon post-op never had a fill and I'm down 83 lbs. My dr told me if I lose 10lbs between visits I don't need to get a fill. I'm down over 10lbs but I'm debating if I should get one. I'm finding it harder to lose weight.

I was also banded on 10/7! I have had 5 fills, my first one being at 3 weeks post-op. I havent had one in the last few months because I am at a really good place and losing steadily. I am down 77lbs and just hit 199! WoOhOo! Don't stress about the fill. I know everyone is diff, but it's super easy for me. You do feel a poke, but it's diff than a normal shot/blood draw because they aren't going into muscle or anything. I barely feel it and I also hate needles. Congrats on the weight loss and keep us updated!

HI all. I was banded Oct 07, 2011 too :) I have had 5 fills and i have a total of 5.3 in a 10cc band. I am only down 23 pounds. I am not sure what i am doing wrong. Sometimes I have so much restriction its hard to get any solid Protein down and other days I have to remember to measure because I get SO hungry.

I do track my calories on caloriecount and i have been walking everyday.

IDK what to do. I think i might go see my surgeon and see whats going on.

I had wanted this surgery for so many years but put it off because i was scared. Then i finally go for it and i feel like i am not being successful.

Anyways Congrats! on your weightloss

I understand ! I was banded in April 2012 and I didn't feel like I needed a fill.I got one fill because I wanted to know what the difference would be.I've refused the last 3 scheduled .now I'm 52 lbs down and as if the last couple of weeks starting to feel hungrier between meals.People say my band may be loser because of the weightloss.so I see my doctor next week and I'll talk to him about what we should do.my weightloss had not stalled yet but I am eating a bit more.

11/30/11...down 93....5 fills ... then had to pull out some.

EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT AS IS YOUR SURGEON. SOME SURGEONS ADD

SOLUTION/FILL AT THE TIME OF SURGERY.

I have a little less than 5cc in a 10cc band. Last fill was in

April and 3 weeks later had some taken out. Takes less than 2

minutes for doc to pick up syringe and fill to be done. NO Pain.

Sweetie don't give up, try going back to liquids and change up your exersice routine. Little changes here and there can make a big difference. We're all here for you!! I know it's hard but we've made it this far, were not gonna gain this weight back!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
