One Month In Bandland

Recommended Posts

Hey all just checking in since I haven't in awhile! Summers in full swing!

So one month out and 25 pounds down! A quarter of my 100 pounds to lose goal! Holy cow!

Non scale victories -

- I can take a picture of my face dead on and barely a double chin! :)

- My old pair of cowboy boots I had to buy a size up to fit my calves are now hard to walk in because there's an inch of room in the calves!

- I couldn't wear my old pyramid belt for the last year - can now!

- Don't dread walking as much - in fact had the confidence to apply to be a walking tour guide of my city - waiting to hear back

- Got decked out to go to a metal show and encountered a full length mirror (dread!!!) and actually had to double take - who was this chick that looked taller and confident and happy and slimmer?

I'm so happy! There have been ups and downs but overall I'm thrilled.

Struggling with bandster hell a little but my first fill is Thursday. On one hand I'm excited and on the other sort of dismayed that I'll be able to eat even less than I already do haha

Anyway, I'm so happy and I'm so proud of myself and I hope all my bandster buddies out there are doing well and enjoying life! :) <3

Also attached a pic of my slimmer face and new hair haha

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
