Chat Rooms, Anyone Use It?

Recommended Posts

Hello Bandsters!

I've been to the chat room on many occasions and have found nobody there, or at least nobody talking anyway. I go all throught out the day into the night EST.

Are there people who use the chat rooms at specific times to gather that I can infiltrate?... :D I promise to be on my best behaviour!

I just joined yesterday and I was chatting, I think some people come in looking for the certain people

I keep checking too.

I'm glad you posted this, I was actually wondering if anyone wanted to start a regular meeting or something, for example, Sunday's would be best for me, but time of day would have to depend on who would be joining, I'm on EST time in Kentucky. I was just banded 09JUL2012, my surgeon's office only has monthly meetings, and I only know 1 person that has had lapband, which I can drill for questions and believe me I have, but it is still good to get different opinions and a good support group. This website is awesome and has drastically helped me, but live communication is good too. Let me know if there is interest and we can set this up, or even start a new post to get more people.

I see people all the time, but nobody says anything!

I like the idea of setting up a time for a group chat or two or three folks, whatever. Just somebody.

I'm in Western NY, EST. Nights after 9:00PM are best for me. I don't know if I have anything useful or interesting to say, but I'd try.

Any other takers?

I have been in the a couple of times and there are people in there but say nothing, even when you speak to them.

I think the system shows anyone who is logged into lapbandtalk not necessarily chat. I did go into chat just now and saw 3 other people but noone was chatting. I think the idea of having a time to meet is great. Evenings are good for me too.

So it looks like we have some interest and I see that there are several rooms if we wanted to choose one of those to use, how about "WLS after dark" or whichever one. To accommodate pkb, I could do Sunday nights at 9pm EST, is that good for everyone else?

9:00 PM, EST Sounds good to me, but I'd only be able to chat for up to an hour.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
