How long do you do a liquid diet after you get a fill? Also do you then go from liquid to mushy and then solid? I've had 2 fills before but had to have an unfill. Tuesday I had a fill and currently have 2.5 cc. My doctor says liquids one day then strat to solids. Guess just wanting a little advice on what works for you because I'm still doing liquids. Concerned about moving too quickly and having to have an unfill again.

My doc says liquids for 2 days..and then normal food...I do liquids at least that day..tee hee hee..and ease back into soft foods and then regular...everytime I get a fill I end up get at least 2 small unfills...when u r close to the green zone the slightest fill of like.2cc's can make a huge difference...just my 2 cents

Thanks I've been on liquids since Tuesday. I tried to eat 2 oz of ricotta cheese and nope came right back up. Not sure what's going on hopefully by next week I can go to mushy if not guess I'll be heading back to the dr. He said if I still had problems he wanted to have an upper GI down.

My surgeon suggests no food or liquid five hours before fill. Then full liquids for a total of three days. I begin to have a hearty Soup on that third evening meal. It gives my stomach time to get used to adjustment and messing with stomach....but it also jump starts my weight loss.

I have my first full tomorrow. My dr must be really conservative, here is my diet:

First week - Clear Liquids ( Jello is included)

Second week - Protein shakes and puréed foods

Third week - soft solids/mushies

Fourth week - regular diet

Then I would be back for another fill.,.

What you've described here is a Post-op diet, not a fill schedule. You should ask your Dr to go over post-fill diet requirements again.

My surgeon says to stay on full liquids for three days then to regular foods. I just got a fill 1/4cc so I'm at 5 3/4 cc restriction in 10cc band. This full liquid gets the tummy calm to heal after adjustment. I was given a paper to follow.

I was thinking something did not seem right but thought my dr was ultra conservative. I also was not able to get the fill today because I have to get an endoscopy done but I definitely will question the diet. You are correct, it is exactly the same but was specifically given a separate instruction sheet advising this. So, I do think this is what they would like me to follow although it does not seem necessary. I have been following all the rules but this one might me in my best interest to break (when the time comes).

Thanks!

Gosh, you will lose weight ASAP if you had to follow that schedule each time you got a fill- that would be terrible!

I was finally able to get my first fill and the PA says to follow all clear liquids for 3 days, then stage 2 for a week, and then stage 3 for a week. I asked the dr if I could start the stages earlier and he said no, it is important to follow it so the band doesn't slip and my body adjusts to it.

I am going to be careful but def not going to follow this schedule.

I stayed on full liquids 3 days and slowly worked in foods this last fill...best advice my surgeon gave me:)

Also to add, it seemed that the first two weeks after those three full liquids days, I needed those stages as I'm getting to the 5.75/6 cc fill. Not everything goes down like it did before doctrinal and error as well as smaller bites and more chewing and taking it slower.

The doctor told me liquids day of fill and then progress to soft then solid as tolerated..

The tighter I get the longer my liquid phase seems to be though. This last fill I was on liquids for 2-3 days.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
