What Does A Slip Feel Like?

Recommended Posts

How common is a slipped band? It seems like a lot of members here have had it happen. For those of you who have had it happen..does it alter your opinion on the band? I'm not banded yet and all this talk of slipping bands it making me slightly nervous.

It alters my opinion of that stupid bite of apple i took on the way back from the bathroom on the way to bed. Cause now I'm sitting on the couch at 2:30am waiting for food to pass that I never really wanted in the first place, and I will think twice about eating 1/2 asleep again. So, I think you could say I love my band.

I have problems drinking fluids, i can feel them going down but i also it feels like a plugged up drain and I keep burping with some reflux no pain i just feel very full but only at the start of my stomach....i am frustrated can someone tell me what to drink to get rid of this? I have tried hot tea.

The difference between band issues and gallbladder is the side of your abdomin. Left side is band, right side is gallbladder. I dealt with slips for 6 months before I had my band removed, it's different each time and for different people, but I always felt pressure when I ate, and I couldn't feel sated, was always hungry, but also horrible reflux and waking up in the middle of the night coughing because of reflux. Hope this helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
