Wow! You guys are ALL an inspiration. I'm 5'8, started at 230 and would be thrilled with 150/160, although I haven't weighed that much in ten years. I swear that part of me doesn't believe it's even possible, even AFTER being banded -- like it seems completely out of reach or something... I haven't lost much since I was banded on 1/31 but I'm getting my first fill tomorrow and hoping that the band will work for me like it has for all of you. Wish me good luck!!

Reading all your success stories is SOOO great! Thanks again!!!

Suzanne

I started out at 223 and I am at 188 now. My goal is to reach at least 140. If I get any lower than that....woohoo!!! But if I maintain that then I am happy.

Good Luck!!:biggrin1:

Ladysplenda -- I think your signature should read your surgery date as 12/1/2005 not 2006. Unless of course I've forgotten what year it is again! :)

I started out at 217 and I'm 5'4" so we are very close in stats. I'm at 166 right now and my goal is 140. Then I'm getting myself a Tummy Tuck and lypo to get down to 130 or so - woooohoooo!

I don't think you're being unrealistic at all. Your goal should be what makes YOU feel your best, not your doc. Good luck!

I started out at 226 and I am now down to 176. Weight loss has stopped and it is killing me!!! I need to get back on the band wagon and work harder. Good to you on the rest of your weight loss adventure.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
