6 Months In

Recommended Posts

So for us January 2012 bandsters, July brings our first six months with the band to a close. I wanted to say congrats to all.

As tomorrow is my half year anniversary of this big change in my life, it got me thinking and reflecting and mainly I came up with the statement "why had I not done this sooner :)". I was just wondering what everybody else is feeling about their choice they made now that we are a ways into our journey? What has been the greatest parts and the hardest parts of the past 6 months?

Hi Minos- a lot of us January bandsters post in the introduction section- there's a January bandster thread.

I had my 6 month bandiversary on 1/26, and like you I wish I had done it sooner. Then I banish that thought and am glad I did it at all.

The hardest part? Really, nothing has been too hard. The few days after surgery with the all liquids- that was hard. But nothing really too awful.

The best part? I've lost over 70 lbs in 6 months! I'm almost half way to my goal- and my personal goal is lower than my surgeons. I like to exercise, I feel better about myself- in all ways- physically, emotionally- at home, at work, etc. It has been such a great change- a great and permanent change!

Join us all on the January bandsters thread in introductions!!! It's a great support system.

Nicki

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
