Hey everyday is a new day! Heck, every minute of every day is another chance to make the right choices and get back on track. If we didn't hit some potholes in the road, we wouldn't appreciate how smooth the rest of the highway is.

Get back on the bike and ride, ride, ride! WE are here for you.

I started the "new me" journey on June 12, 2007 (the day after my 42nd birthday). I got on the scale this morning and hit the magic 100 pounds gone in 9 months exactly!

I am not actually sure how I feel about it. Don't get me wrong- I am very proud of what I have accomplished and how hard I have worked, but as I write this I am starting to cry. Not really sad - I guess I don't know what I feel - maybe overwhelmed.

Robin.....I can most certainly change my weight loss to date to 267 pounds! I'm so very proud to say that I've lost 267 pounds in less than 3 years! My goal was 300 pounds by my 3rd bandiversary but I don't think I'll get there by April 29th. But I'm just so happy for how far I have come! I love my lapband more than words can say!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
