Fda Approved Protein Supplements?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any recommendations for FDA tested/approved Protein supplements? Bariatric Advantage has a statement on their website "

These statements have not been evaluated by the food and Drug Administration." Not sure if that means the products haven't been evaluated or just the statements? I sent them an email. I couldn't find a similar statement on the powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury website.

Wow, I have too much time on my hands.

I don't believe the FDA regulates any dietary supplements. Even your Multi Vitamins are not regulated by the FDA. Just pay attention to the ingredients and don't take any with weird ingredients. For example, muscle milk uses "and/or" a lot in their ingredient list, they don't even know what they are putting in there!

I think the FDA ensures that suppliments don't contain anything that might kill you. They don't go through the same approval of a perscription drug. The FDA will pull something from the shelves if it is shown to be dangerous ie certain weight loss pills. The FDA will crack down on a company that makes medical claims (saying there is a cause and effect from taking a suppliment) that can not be proven.

I'm guessing the Bariatric Advantage site talks about how their product will help you loose weight and since that can't really be proven to be true; they have to say the FDA has not approved those claims.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
