Will I Be Able To Do Seaworld, For 2-3 Hours, 1 Day Post-Op?

Recommended Posts

While I normally bounce back from everything, I am not sure about purchasing SeaWorld ticket in advance . I have 4 hours from the time I leave hospital until I can check into my room in SanDiego 1st day post-op. I really want to take the mission bay sky-lift ride, and see the dolphins & sharks. I think I can do these 3 things and be alright. They aren't physically demanding, but the walking will be quite alot. But I'm think I'll need to walk, and that it would be away to ensure I do some walking that day. I'm afraid if I went back to the room immediately I might just lay down and sleep. I think I'll just wait and see...But I have to have something to do for 3 hours so I might as well do Sea World...What do you all think?

You might be able to do this at Seaworld. Its a big park, just walk a little and then sit. There are wheel chairs available if you have someone to push you. It might be tender in the surgery incision if you try and push yourself. I've included infor on electric strollers for you, very reasonable and being :handicapped" for a day or so, you can get on the rides first and your party is included. Enjoy yourself at SeaWorld and best wishes again Surgery day.

Thanks, I plan to go ahead and try. we"ll do the mission bay skyride, and see the dolphins & killer whales then probably leave. I usually bounce back from stuff easily. Actually I found out when could probably get in the room early, but this is our only day to actually do something fun. I've never been to cA. or Mexico or anywhere farther west than Missouri so we want to try to do something! It'll probably be along time before I get to go back there. Sorry if I spelled anything wrong but the print on this site is tiny today? Is it that way on your pc? I can't even read it and I don't have poor eyesight it's so small. Just started doing this today...Thanks...

Boy, I would go slow. You're talking the day after surgery? Forget what was done to you, just being under general anasthesia takes a toll on your body. I think I would hold off on pre purchasing, and pay the extra on the day. It would be awful to feel you had to go because you had already bought the tickets, rather than go because you feel up to it and really want to.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
