Banding in Illinois 2do or not 2do?

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen too many posters from Illinois - but here goes.

I'm looking for anyone banded in Illinois....I'm near Naperville/Aurora

How did it go?

Who banded you?

Where did you have it done?

How was it?

All the usual questions....

I'm thinking banding because I don't want my inards rerouted. I had a Csection with my daughter and hated the invasiveness of it - I can only imagine what I would feel like after a RNY.

I've been changing my lifestyle since the end of last year. My work made membership to the healthclub free for employees - so I'm there everyday doing 45minutes/2.3 miles on the treadmill - but haven't lost a lb.

I haven't been dieting - but just watching what I'm eating - we used to eat out several times a week. Now - it's maybe once a week. The rest of the week I try to make well rounded meals....

Last week I would have thought anyone going to Mexico for surgery was taking their lives in their own hands (my husband is from central Mexico - we visit almost every year) ....

And then I spent last night pouring over this board reading all the wonderful stories about having it done by Rumbaut(sp) in Mexico.

Anyone who would like to chime in, please feel free. I work overnight weekends - so I'll be up tonight and will need something to read!!:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
