Macon, Ga- Surgery July 19Th

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm from Macon, GA and am going to be having my lapband surgery on July 19th with Dr. Bagnato. I am SHOCKED that my insurance company approved me on the first try! I am glad I found this forum to come to and ask my millions of questions.

My family isn't too supportive of this decision. They think I should lose weight the "old fashioned" way and think I'm just trying to take the easy way out. It's irritating because I HAVE TRIED the old fashioned way! I had to do 6 months of dieting prior to this and guess how much I lost? NOTHING.

I look forward to getting to know folks and hopefully see great results soon!

Hi Marci, I got on this website this morning to look for recipes and Macon, Ga. caught my eye immediately. I know that Dr. Bagnato is now in Macon and I am delighted to hear he is doing your surgery. I am from Cuthbert, Ga (west of Albany) and Dr. Bagnato did my surgery on April 11, 2011. He and his staff are fantastic as you probably already know. The decision to have surgery was the best decision I have ever made as far as my health is concerned. I have lost 75 lbs so far and am off meds I had been taking for years. Please don't let others discourage you---they simply don't understand what battles you have to face dealing with your weight. I understand.....I have fought those same battles for years and years. I am 63 but I have more energy now than I can remember having 30 yrs ago. This will truly be a life changing event for you. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers. Keep me posted on your progress! :-)

Marci I am in WR and Bagnado is who I will be using once I get approvals for my procedure. Currently going thru dietician counsel now but still ironing out details for my insurance coverage. If you need an ear to bend I am glad to help. Heaven knows I understand the feeling of going thru it alone or dealing with all the gloomy Gus's downing you at every turn. Just message me if you want to talk about it. So excited for you to get to start your journey so soon! Congrats and good luck! Andrea

I hear ya, I had to do the six month trial and I gained weight on weight watchers. It came be very frustrating, I know! My mom didn't like that fact that I was having it done. Now she has a different outlook since I have lost 40 pounds in three months! Hang in there and keep your head up! It is a life changer! Best thing I have ever done, beside marring my husband!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
