Just Started The Mushies - Hooray !!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on May 21, full liquid diet for the required 10 days and went to post-op appointment to be told another 2 weeks of liquids - bummer! Saw nutritionist the next day - change of plans. I was hungry all the time on liquid but this morning I found out that if you eat a little too large of bites or a little too fast the food says it wants to make a repeat appearance. The difference between no restriction with liquids and no restriction (no fill yet) for mushies is amazing. How's eating going for you other May 2012 Bandsters?

I was banded the 24th and I'm very hungry. My post op appt is not until june13. I'm doing Protein Shakes and it's not working. I have cheated and had mashed potatoes. I'm starving and no energy.

I was banned on the 23rd and sometimes I feel hungry but not often. When I do, I add 1 scoop of my powered version of my milk shake and mix it. It's only 197 cal and 27g Protein per 8oz and taste great. It satifies my sweet tooth and fills me up!! I started my mushy foods today and I'm just fine, actually I feel as if it's too much.

Btw, my drinks are from GNC called Lean 25 they have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. Also have power in which I buy the Cookies and cream and I add it to the liquid vanilla and it taste like a melted milk shake...mmmm. I also add the chocolate power to the strawberry to get chic covered strawberries!!!

Good luck

Jannaboo, what helped me when I was hungriest was either low fat no sugar pudding or cream of wheat. Both of them have some substance to them and helped me feel a little full for a little while. I was also permitted cream of chicken Soup put through the blender to eliminate the chunks of chicken. I ate it slowly with a spoon and it seemed to do the trick. Hang in there - you'll get through this. I keep saying that in a year I won't even remember this part. Good luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
