Stuck - Yay That Means I Still Have A Band

Recommended Posts

I know it is weird to sound excited about being stuck but I am as that means my band is still there. I was beginning to wonder if it had somehow being absorbed into my body never to be seen or heard from again.

Long story short after a partial unfill at the beg of the year I have been getting my band slowly refilled. It is awful as it feels as though I have no band at all. I can eat anything, don't need to eat slowly and it is doing nothing for my hunger. Yes when the band is not having an effect the bad eating habits sneak back up on you really quickly. Next app at which I am hoping to get filled to where I previously had restriction is on 15th June and that can't come soon enough.

Anyway dinner last night was roast pork and veggies. Ate my veg and then had a slice of pork. Well obviously I must have eaten too quickly or something as I got stuck. Luckily I was able to bring it back up so the discomfort didn't last long but at least i know that the band is still there. I then stupidly had a slice of pork and some pistachios for lunch. Dumb I know. Got stuck again and this time it lasted longer. So now I know I should avoid pork - it can be dry and dense which is the problem. I haven't been able to do pork chops for ages but roast was OK.

Now if only my band could start doing something for my hunger levels then I would be happy...........

I totally feel you, I had a slip in October, and had a revision done. Even tho' my surgeon says I have restriction, I feel like I don't and want to eat everything, too! But, he told me that if he fills it any further, nothing will pass through. I am currently at 5cc. And, I have gained some weight, but now, I have to help myself, and control my own appetite! Best wishes, Elcee! Karen

I have a question.. After you got it back up & now unstuck, the pressure is gone.. Do you or have you eat again?

I totally understand!! Was overfilled Easter weekend and had to get 1 cc taken out...since then, where is my band?????? Slowly getting .2cc each month since then but seems like forever since I've been stuck....trying to eat right but it's not easy now that I don't have good restriction. Trying to get back on track.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
