Port Site Soreness

Be had a few things occur in the last few days that may have contributed to my port site soreness but not sure what or if it's serious.

1). Minday, I was babysitting my neighbors kids and one of them smacked me in the port site w/a ballon on a string. It hurt a little bit and that was the end of it.

2). Tuesday I had a vigorous workout. I've been lifting weights since week 7, but I had a more intense cardio workout. Not sure if I tweaked a muscle.

3). Tuesday night after dinner I got a little nauseous and had to 'throw up' a little bit. Of course nothing came up.

Now Walt Wednesday morning I noticed my port site is a little sore. Any ideas if one or all may have contributed? Am I in trouble? Should I go see my doctor? Or am I being a worry wort?

Thanks!

Ive literally bruised a perfect circle on top of mine! Hurt bad but just take it easy for a few days try not to stretch it to much or lay on it and you should be fine.. But I wikl say this as a warning to people be careful about bending over into something I flipped my port by leaning in over a sink that was to deep for me to reach hurt like hell

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
