I am new to "bandland" I have been reading alot of posts, and just want to say thanks to everyone who does post. You have helped me through alot so far. I was banded on Jan 13, 2006 and I am down 25 lbs. What a lifestyle change for me. Change for the better of course.

BUT... My question here is....

What are people doing for there exercise rountine. What are some examples of time spent in the gym. How often do you up your exercise. How hard are you pushing yourselves at the gym? I was just curious to see what has been working and what hasn't been working. I have been going to the gym 5 nights a week... doing 20 mins or cardio and then weight training either arms or legs switching off each night.

Keep up the great postings and happy journey! :clap2:

I like Water aerobics, It keeps you cooled down and I can work out longer. I also like the way my joints don't get damaged and believe me the water resistance gives me a real workout. I used to go to curves but I had real trouble with my knees and hips. I hope you get a chance to try it. I work out with a lot of gray haired people and they are all so nice, no one has ever made me feel like a beached whale walking in my swimsuit. I really feel accepted.

Freebit's Exercise Routine:

1. Flip TV station up.

2. Flip TV station down.

3. Rinse, repeat.

Sometimes I go 2 TV stations up and down to really kick it up a notch.

52lbs in 5 months no joke. Seriously, I may actually start jogging again. I am in the weight range where I won't look foolish doing it. Whatever you do dont strees over it. If you dont feel like exercising right now, then don't. I beleive that when the time is right, you will want to do it naturally.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
