Slow Loser Weekly Challenge

Recommended Posts

Finally taking responsibility for my slow loss. I'm eating too slow and making bad choices. Before I go for my next fill I am making the commitment to give the band a fair chance. Was banded sept.30 2012 and only down 30 lbs. this week my goals are not to give into sugar cravings, log all meals and work out 3 times...at least 20 minutes. Anyone else wanna join up, support and encourage weekly concentration on band success!

At 61 I also lost very slowly. But in 15 months I lost 89 lbs. I made it when it was time to make it.

Have patience learn lessons. learn rules. What is your other choice? Keep going it will happen.

I lost about 35 pounds per year and am now down 85 pounds. Like Cindysmom, I'm losing the weight in the time I am supposed to lose the weight. No one is going to hand out an award for fastest weight loss so you may as well take pleasure in each stage of the loss. No doubt making better food choices and adding exercise with speed you up a bit, though. Good luck to you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
