Im So Confused...i Think

Recommended Posts

Ok..I posted about my 3rd fill being OUCH! I went and had 1cc removed and instantly felt better..about 5 days later I started feeling like I was over filled again.. food was starting to hurt going down, even drinking was starting to hurt....

HOWEVER.....Ive been trying to eat and I eat such a small amount. I noticed it doesnt hurt anymore really..Sometimes it hurts when I take my crushed pills.. So now Im thinking..'Is this really the small amount of food Im suppose to be eating? Is this the green zone and I just didnt realize it"? I can eat now with no pain..but it is such small amounts. I mean REALLY small amounts. Last night we had spagetti and I literally was able to eat about 6 strands of spaghetti and sauce and 1 medium size roll. I can drink my Protein Shake but little sips and it takes me about 40 minutes to finish so it doesnt hurt. Is this what they meant about being in the green zone? Is the pain I do feel when I eat is that cause Im taking too big of a gulp of my drink or not a small enough bite? I thought drinking wouldnt be a problem but then I started noticing the pain when I was really thirsty..so thought...hmmmmm maybe Im taking bigger gulps than I realize.

And the weight is really starting to come off. I do not feel hungry.

So what do you think.....Am I in the green zone and just didnt know it???

First of all, I would avoid the bread. I usually get that pain anytime I have bread. It does sound like you are in the green zone though. You need to remember to eat slowly and chew ALOT. Put your fork down between bites and dont drink while eating.

I have learned with my body if I even take 1 sip while I'm eating, I throw it all up and I'm miserable for about an hour.

Everyone's 'full signal' is different, for me, I get a runny nose and the hiccups. If I even eat one more bite past that, I will start with the slimey spit up.

I always eat my Protein first. I cannot eat chicken breast at all. I stick to some ground turkey, fish, and very tender steak. Then, eat your Vegis, and if you still have room, then carbs. It took me a while to learn my body, and I'm still learning what I can and cannot do since I just got my band on 12/22. I'm learning (the hard way) how to listen to my body!!!!

I would avoid Pasta and bread. All empty calories. If you can't eat 3 oz of solid Protein you are too tight. My doctor doesn't want me drinking my calories ie Protein shakes. Some people are really tight in the morning and do a shake for Breakfast, I get that.

I am at restriction and eat chicken twice a day and don't have any trouble. If you can't eat 3 oz solid Protein by lunch you are too tight. People who keep the band really tight because they are loosing weight, usually eventually fall back on Protein Shakes. This usually leads to other liquid calories and thus weight gain.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
