I am having some similar experience but only in the morning for the most part. I have been researching and in my case I think I am getting dehydrated. I am trying to take in more Water and see if that helps. Are you getting your water in?

Not drinking anything is not good. You definately need to be drinking your Water and Protein Shakes. Not doing that will definately cause some issues. You may want to call your doctor to see why you cant get anything down. Dont wait too long, it can become serious. Good Luck.

I mentioned in another thread of yours if you can't get liquids down comfortably. Call your doc and see if there is Fluid in your band. You're going to become dehydrated if you aren't already and if you're lightheaded you probably are. This is nothing to mess with. You say you are 7 days post op, you should be able to drink fine.

Several years ago I had a bout with cryptosporidiosis and ended up in the ER to receive IV fluids because of dehydration. From what you are describing it sounds like you are dehydrated. I was warned that the number one problem post op is dehydration so if your not getting your Water and Protein in it will not get better.

I agree with Jess55 you need to call your doc. If you feel too sick to keep things down your doc needs to know, there are meds that can be prescribed that could help. It's amazing how much better you feel when you're well hydrated - I speak from experience!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
