Hi Roni

Wow the journey you are on now I am happy to be over that period. I was banded 2/9/12. Inbox me if you need to chat sometimes. My biggest downfall was not finding people who were banded to talk to

Best of luck

Tiffanie

Hi Daisy

These past two weeks after my second fill I am starting to really understand more. I am only 28 and dont have any friends that have the Lapband. I work late so could never get to the 1X a month support group my surgery center had. So I took to the web... Which later after calling my doctors office several times because everything I read I felt was wrong with me. I can look back and laugh now :D but then I just cried. The only bad thing right after surgery for me was the gas I went in on Thursday and was back to work by Monday. The gas lasts for 3-6 weekes per my doctor. I was put on a liquid diet for 2 wks soft foods for 2 wks then slowly regular foods. By 1 week I was starving and wanted regular food so I started eating real food but just new I made my band slip luckily I had a post op appointment and told the doctor I had started eating he said I was healing really fast so at the most I could go to soft foods. Overall my surgery was great . I had wrote somewhere else that what I really need/ needed was this group being able to talk to people and gain some perspective. Since joining I feel amazing with all the diet and exercise tips I have gotten off here. I am finally feeling closer to a green zone and so excited to reach my goals. I hope I gave you a little insight and message me anytime you wanna chat or just feel alone. I was there and it was horrible.

Best of luck to you

Tiffanie

Really, contracting world is very small. I have been here since 2008. It is the only place in the world where doctors still do house calls. I am still healing, but I have a routine now. He recently gave me a fill 6cc and I have restrictions/limits.

Hey Tiffanie,

Thanks for your insight! I am glad youre happy with things now. A band slip sounds horrible and painful. I really need to be careful. So you had gas pain up to 6 weeks after surgery? I am going on vacation a month after mine and I hope I will feel good by then. Not ideal but i had this trip planned a year ago. What kind of foods are you able to eat now? I am on day 7 of pre op liquids and soo anxious to be able to eat real food and learn how to still live my life, but w/ the band. I have about 100 to lose.

I will definitely be checking in w/ you. Buddy system helps :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
