Omg! I Just Screwed Up!

I dont know what I was thinking. I just had my first shake since being banded on the 18th. I only had half of it, but still. I am miserably full. To the extent that if I could vomit I would feel better. Since my band is so new, I am concerned that I will damage it. I don't want to cause myself any problems...

Don't want to stretch my pouch. This is terrible. Anyone else do this?

I was banded on the 12th and was just able to tolerate my first shake yesterday, the 23rd. It's alot to take in and I have to treat it like a meal and give it 30 minutes or so. Another thing I've found that works pretty good is New Whey. It's a liquid protien shot. It's like juice, so it's not as thick. I like to mix mine with some vitamin water zero over ice. You can find them at walmart, online, and in some Sam's clubs.

P.S. I think we might go to the same doctors office! Dr. Adam Smith works with my doctor, Dr. Craig Ferrara.

Yes, I go to Dr Smith. Actually have my first post op appt tomorrow.

Had almost half a can of soup, the heat and sip ones. I think the cans are 10.5 oz? Now I am way full and burping like a drunk sailor!

Why no fruit???

I add fresh mixed berries every morning' date=' sometimes a banana, etc. Have always done that.[/quote']

I was not allowed fruit postop until I was ready for solids.

Stomach is still getting used to its lovely new lifestyle. You know your body best. Sometimes too cold of shakes tightens the band up, water retention, stress, etc. Take it slowly one day at a time sip sip sip:)

I was banded on the 16th. I have been able to add fruit to my shakes from day one with no problems. I am trying to be safe, but worry that I am taking things to quickly. I have had no issues with anything I eat. I am sticking to liquid purees. Any advise?

I remember my first solid soft food...KFC mash potatoes and gravy... Felt like Thanksgiving!

I am watching portions closely. Is there a chance I could be stretching my pouch? I have had only one time of feeling uncomfortable, but I have the hiccups a lot!

Ate you currently unfilled or did your surgeon film your band for first time at surgery? Mine did not fill until one month and half later so I could heal first.

OMG same here, I didn't think it could get better... Lol

It's funny now that it has been over a year and half I can look back and these posts are oh so familiar!!!! Just hang in there. I also remember my first Einstein toasted bagel that did not work for me!!!! Funny how we can remember such moments and there will be more to come. Our tool that has been installed in our bodies is just a tool...we have to work at making it work for us!
