  1. Mine said 4 weeks if it were my own pool, 6 weeks if it were a public pool. I guess they are just all different.
  2. Yes, still have my gallbladder. Dr removed my fill and sent me home with orders to drink up after 5 failed attempts at an IV. If I'm not feeling better by closing, I'm supposed to call back and they'll admit me to the hospital.
  3. Oh, I guess I forgot to add my surgery date, 4/12/12 so I've been on solids for a good while now and had a fill in early May. I am drinking protein shakes still, in the morning.
  4. I've been sick off and on for a week. It seems every other day I'll go to bed fine, and wake up with awful stomach ache (crampy pain. feels squeezing), dry heaving, and diarrhea. I also had this horrible pain in my left side last week. I don't know if its a virus since its been so off & on. Anyone else experience this? I'm trying to get in with th Dr.
  5. I was banded on the 12th and was just able to tolerate my first shake yesterday, the 23rd. It's alot to take in and I have to treat it like a meal and give it 30 minutes or so. Another thing I've found that works pretty good is New Whey. It's a liquid protien shot. It's like juice, so it's not as thick. I like to mix mine with some vitamin water zero over ice. You can find them at walmart, online, and in some Sam's clubs. P.S. I think we might go to the same doctors office! Dr. Adam Smith works with my doctor, Dr. Craig Ferrara.

  8. I'm a week post op and my dermabond (glue) is peeling of my incisions. Is this alright? They didn't say when it should come off when I was at my appointment Tuesday. I don't go back until May 4 to get a fill. Has anyone else had dermabond? When did it come off?
  9. I'm just wondering what the next step is...like right now I can eat basically broth, jello, tomato soup, and Apple sauce. The nutritionist did explain my diet once I get to the normal stuff, when I get my first fill. I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what to expect from my post op visit, but I suppose I'll wait.
  10. I had my band on the 12th. My post-op is on the 17th. I'm just wondering, when will I be able to eat real food again? I was on the two week pre-op liquid diet, then on the 48 hour post-op clear liquid, now I'm on the post-op milk based liquid diet. I'm just wondering what to expect after my post-op appointment on the 17th, am I going to be given another diet? Or will I be able to eat real food again? I have to say I wasn't expecting all this when I got my band! I just want to get started, lol.
  11. Oh wow, I might have to try some of this. I'm sure I'll need variety! Thanks!
  12.    Journey2Healthy reacted to a post in a topic: How Much Protien For You A Day?
  13. My nutritionist recommended the "Gladiator". It's 180 calories, one of the lowest ones they have, is that still bad for a protien shake? This is all so confusing now that I also have to keep the Protein in mind also.
  14. I don't know about everyone else, but it was hard finding such a high protien shake. I finally found a 45 g protien shake at smoothie king. I need between 80-100 grams a day, the nutritionist said that's what I need because I'm taller than average, but I'm not really that tall! How much protein does everyone else take in? What shakes do you have? This is going to be the hardest part, I think!
