I was banded in October 2007. I lost almost 60 pounds and was doing great! In February 2009 I found out I was pregnant with my son and had hypermesis. Since I couldn't keep anything down and all the vomiting was actually painfil my doc took about 1/2 of my fill out. Not only was my hypermesis better almost immediately, I could eat pretty much anything I wanted. Bad bad news! During my pregnancy I gained almost 50 pounds. Ugh!

When my son was born I had every intention of getting back on the horse. He was an incredibly difficult baby. He had colic, cried ALL.THE.TIME and I was just physically and mentally exhausted. Honestly getting a fill was the LAST thing on my mind.

After I went back to work I went to a different doctor for a fill, a doc that was closer to my office and more convenient. I got a small fill that didn't really do much but I got a HUGE wake up call when I realized this doctor billed my insurance company $800 for my fill. $800 came out of my HRA account and pretty much screwed me up with my insurance for the rest of the year. I was so so mad. Mostly at myself because I didn't ask enough questions but still.. I was mad and didn't want to go back.

So now, here I am only 30 pounds lighter than I was when I was banded almost 5 years ago and I am so discouraged! I have been waiting to get back to the right place mentally, don't know what that's supposed to be exactly, but I recently decided I've just been using that as an excuse. I just have to DO something instead of just sitting around waiting.

I do still have some restriction, I'm not able just eat anything I want, but I know it's not enough.

I called my surgeon's office and I'm just waiting for them to re-verify my insurance again so I can go in and get a fill.

I have to get back on the horse!! LOL! My 6 year old and 2 year old NEED me to be the healthy happy me I was and I know I can be again!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
