Weird Tightness After Band Fill?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I had my band filled today again after about a month of virtually no weight loss. I had .8cc put in. However I feel this tightness that I've never felt before. Maybe it's just my stomach adjusting to the new Fluid, but have you ever felt your stomach physically whine about the tightening of the band? I mean, I can feel it without eating. Anybody experienced this? How did it turn out?

Thanks,

Elizabeth

You may be to tight. You will know by morning for sure. If you develop a cough, reflux, or back pain then you are too tight. Don't suffer through it just get some removed if it is too tight. It is amazing how a small amount can make such a difference. Are you getting things down okay? My band seems to tighten for a few days after a fill and then settle. Good luck

I'm getting fluids down okay. I don't have any back pain or anything like that. It just feels weird. I'm thinking of giving it a few days so any swelling can go down. When I drank Water at the office, I was a little better than I am now. I really think its swelling that may be the problem.

Could be. I have a really sensitive stomache and usually have issues after the fill. My stomache will start flip flopping and get upset so hopefully it is not too tight.

Hey I too just got a fill (.5 cc) two days ago. I've had my band for a couple years, but I've never experienced this. I haven't had a fill or unfill for about the past 9 months. I can eat, and drink- but I just have pain... It hurts a lot! Its in my chest and back and started a couple hours after my fill ( along with a crazy headache too!) ( which ive never had happen before either) I found that drinking hot Water helps a little bit for comfort measures.. Anyone have any advice? Should I just wait it out! Go back on liquids for a few days?

chest and back pain would be your band. Do you have a cough (especially at night), any reflux, thick saliva. Sounds like your band could be to tight but some people say they go back on liquids for a few days and it seems to resolve. Womens menstrual cycles also seem to make the band tighten.

So I went back to my doctors office, and he took out 0.1cc. It's a small amount but it has made a huge difference! I have great restriction without the pain, no nausea or vomiting:) here we go!!

I had my first fill since November this morning, and I'm not sure if it's because it's been so long or what, but I felt kinda tight afterwards too. Almost like I had a lump in my throat, and I had some pressure in the middle of my chest too. It's better now, and since this morning I've had two cups of Water, Tomato Soup and plain greek yogurt with no pain or anything. I'll see how I feel tomorrow, but so far so good!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
