SEX...how long after procedure?

Recommended Posts

I didn't ask my surgeon but I was able to get back into the "swing" of things about 4-5 days after surgery. You may have to experiment with different positions to find one that most comfortable for you. However, I do recommend placing your hand over your port area/incision to secure it when in missionary position. Believe me, you'll know immediately why if you don't.

HI,

I thought you coulde have it at the hospital if the doctor was cute and willing, you were single and both were consenting! LOL

Truthfully, I could not even fathom sex the first week after banding, but as long as you feel like it, hey all the more power to ya!! You definitely do want to protect the port area which is the most tender part and likely to be painful if bumped or grabbed at....

I waited a week and a half. Yeah that port incision is a bear isn't it?

My doctors exact advice was "as tolerated" so you can either jump back on or wait him out for a month or more.

GRAPHIC DISCUSSSION OF SEXUAL POSITIONS AHEAD

We had luck, and less jostling with my husband standing and me laying perpendicular on the bed, right up to the edge. Our bed is really tall and so is my husband. Also, try the couch. Sit on his lap facing. Being on top means that you control not only what feels good, but what doesn't. You don't get caught trying to stop him with your face pressed into the mattress. *evil smirk*

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
