What are some of things you notice when at restriction?

I feel satisfied on a small quantity of food and then I don't feel hungry for about 4 hours. I don't think about food in between meals. My weight drops!

I almost posted a similar question this morning. I'm going for my third fill today and really, really hoping to feel something. So far the only way I even know I have a band is if I eat too fast I'll get stuck and have to bring the offending food back up. But if I eat slowly and chew really well, I can eat just as much as I want. I'm really hoping that "restriction" means my appetite is seriously decreased!

I must say, I feel the same way as Toddy. I have had one fill, 5cc's and feel absolutely no restrictions. I go again on Tuesday for another fill. How are you doing now Toddy? What is your total fill cc's now and has things changed yet for you?

I can feel my band with every swallow. It constantly gives me feedback. Tells me if I am taking too large of swallows, tells me to slow down, tells me I have eaten enough, don't force it.

And that's whom I am eating.

It also takes away my appetite 24/7, not just between meals.

After my third fill on Tuesday I'm at 5.5 cc's in the 10 cc band. I finally feel restriction, and I was beginning to feel like I may be a little too tight until I read B-52's post here. I can feel with every bite, and even with liquids, if I'm "doing it wrong". After reading that B-52 feels the same way, I'm thinking I may finally be in the "sweet spot"! We just left our favorite restaurant where I always order chili (even in the summer because it's just sooo good) and I could only eat about a third of the bowl and had to eat really slow. So far I haven't found anything that I absolutely can't eat, but I know I better chew whatever I eat to death!!! This is a great feeling!

The only thing I'm worried about now is with as little as I eat, it's hard to get in all my Protein. I'm thinking I'm going to have to start drinking some Protein again.

You can either change your eating habits, techniques, or get a slight until. It really is the users personal preference. I prefer my eating restricted. I do better eating small meals numerous times during the day, rather than 3 a day.

Then again, sometimes I just don't feel like eating at all. To me that's ok too.

I cannot eat anything first thing in the morning. Too tight.

So every morning I have a high Protein smoothie, 40 grams. Then it's not hard to get the rest. I also don't count calories, since my food intake is limited, and I'm focusing on the Protein items first.

Why waste what limited quanity of food I can eat on something that does me no good, like Pasta, etc.

So for me, it all works out.

I love chili also. Being only able to eat a small portion of the bowl, to me, is what it s all about!

Just had my 3rd fill last thursday and am at 4.75cc in 10cc band. I was beginning to think I was too tight up until today. swelling must be down a bit, but I finally can put something other than Water in my mouth without it coming back up later. I have noticed some restriction today, hoping that I am close or at my green zone. I do know that mornings I have to have something hot to drink before I can do anything else... too tight in AM. Throughout the day also cold fluids dont do me well.... but that is OK for me... I will keep moving along and losing weight...

For over a year now, aside from my coffee, all I can get down in the morning is a high Protein smoothie for Breakfast. Then it gets easier as the day goes on.

Plus I get more Protein from the smoothie than anything I would be able to eat.

It's so true eating early is really hard it's like everything relaxes by dinner. I am at 9 cc and I get full very quickly and stay full for about 5 hours. I eat twice a day, if I eat Breakfast it's Greek yogurt or a Protein Bar with coffee. It took a lot of fills but I am in a happy place now I lose about 8 pounds a month. This last fill was the first time the band really started talking to me and I did get sick twice from not chewing well. No more fills for me I am in that perfect zone. Everybody is different and some people have a large band some the small one you just have to listen to your body

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
