weird clicking feeling?

Recommended Posts

Hi there:help:

I have a sort of weird question. Hoping someone out there knows what I mean.

I was banded on Feb 1. For the last week or so I have had a weird clicking feeling around my port area. It almost feels like when you hit a nerve. I must admit I have been worried that it is a stitch coming undone. It happens about 5 times a day.

Has anyone felt this?

Hi!

Yes! I did feel this, in the hospital right after surgery. I could actually hear a "popping" noise right at that area. I called the nurse in and she listened to my stomach and told me it was gas. Since I've gotten home, I have heard something similar a few times, and assume it's gas. However, it does not sound like regular gas at all. I would advise though that if it doesn't go away soon, have your doc check you out.

Felt it for the first few months after surgery. No worries, I think it's the port settling in place or something. At first I was SO worried about it but it went away. :)

My port is placed in a position where it actually "clicks" against my botton rib bone when I try to do crunches or ab exercises. It does not hurt. It's just weird!

My port clicks also. It didn't hurt and even though it was kind of annoying, it wasn't a huge deal. I thought every thing was ok. I just got back from the doctor an hour ago where I went to get filled. My port has flipped. It is now facing the wrong way. They don't really know what causes this and why it would happen when I am so far out. So though it isn't great news, it has answered a few issues I was having. I am waiting on an appointment time for them to reposition it. Apparently minor surgery which only takes an hour or so and is very simple.

I am by no means saying the clicking is indicative of a problem with the port. I am not a doctor and such statements would be careless. In my case it seemed to be indicative of a problem because only recently it has started doing this. My point is that if it bothers you and feels odd, then get it checked out for peace of mind if nothing else.

I have recently noticed this too! It's just a clicking sound that happens during exercise...doesn't hurt but just sounds weird!

Hi, I also had that weird clicking feeling after surgery, my port felt like it was sticking out WAYYY too far and it was kind of loose. The dr. didn't think there was anything wrong with it, he said it was normal, etc... well it persisted and finally the tubing connecting my port to my band broke off the port, and the sharp metal end was scratching me inside--- super painful. They had to replace my port. This only happens to 4% of people with the Inamed band. I think it happened because my port wasn't stitched down tightly enough and therefore was flexing that little piece of tubing more than it should have, and it broke. SO if it REALLY bothers you, keep on your doctor about it and have them really take a good look & feel. It could be something more. After the 2nd surgery (just spent the day in the hospital) my new port felt so much more like I thought it should, it doesn't move around and there is not that clicking feeling. I really hated it when it was like that in the beginning. So keep on them if it bothers you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
