Water on Hot Days

Recommended Posts

We are getting tickets to the Brickyard 400 on Aug 6 and realizing I will be banded by then, I got a little scared that I won't be able to drink enough Water while out in the hot sun. :couch2: For those of you that have experienced this, how do you get enough water on a hot summer day? Is there a chance I'll get dehydrated?

Just carry a water bottle with you at all times..I have Water with me 24/7/365...everywhere I go, my 24oz water bottle goes with me...you'll be fine..it is very rare to become dehydrated unless of course you are filled way too tight and you can even get water down or swallow your own saliva

I am a wee bit worried about summer

I am out ALL summer and I drink (drank) GALLONS

100 pounds lighter MIGHT make me not need to drink so friggin much

But I will take it as it comes

IF I have to unfill alittle and not loose so much than SO BE IT

NO ONE will take away my summer fun

I have the winter blues SOOOOO bad right now.. Its getting pretty bad

I CAnt wait till summer

Nykee, just imagine sitting there, watching it rain...it's cold...and you have to look past your Harley to see it all....*sigh* Winter really sucks!

Hi Nykee ~ I drink tons of Water in the summer too and I'm with you on the concerns. At least I'm glad to hear the words of wisdom from others that it shouldn't be a problem. There are times I can chug an entire 16 oz bottle of Water. :rolleyes I will just take it as it comes and drink, drink, drink.

I'm getting spring fever as well. I live in IN and it has rained most of the winter and now it decides to get cold. I'm ready for the warm weather so my boys can go outside. I've read you have kids, so I know you can relate. :phanvan

Take care and think "warm thoughts".

Just a suggestion...

Maybe, like an athlete, you should be sure to hydrate for a day or two before as well as carry Water or gatorade with you?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
