American Idol

Woot Woot Woot!!

Sorry for the storms last night, my NC friends, but, hey, whatever it takes to get her off the show, right?!?!?!!?

OKay, hubby says next week is 1 song from their birth year and 1 song currently on charts!!! Should be awesome!

I am pretty pleased now that Kellie is no longer in the running, but I really feel that this is a male competition from now on!

Paris will be out next week IMO, and Katherine will soon follow.

Elliott would make me happiest if he were to win, he is deserving and kind. A REAL person to look up to!

Y'all know I love Taylor, but I'm not sure he could be super successful in the mainstream market (same with Katherine and Paris)

I love Chris, but he really doesn't need Idol - his career skyrocketed the first time he got air time (again, IMO). He could slap down onto tape any of the performances he has given us so far and it would be on the charts - he is ready for the next step NOW, he doesn't need the summer tour and all of the Idol red tape that Bo has dealt with.

So, I think it's Chris's game, but he definitely has some SERIOUS competition!!!!!

PS Paula, Paula admits to past pain medication problems, she says she has a muscular disorder which leaves her in excruciating pain, so she is dealing with that without the use of pain meds (maybe a few cosmos, just to take the edge off????) I read a bit about her today, but I'm still not convinced that she's "straight up"~~

I didn't think that was harsh about Kellie going into porn. Don't the majority of us want to look like porn stars? I do. Maybe not be in them, just have the body?

Paula, (in my Pickler voice) What' porn? Is that kinda like corn...we grow some of that in North Carolina. Corn is better than cal---a---mar----e.

Yeah...Kellie is gone! Yeah Kellie is gone! Yeah Kellie is gone! Ok...I do think she is cute as a button....but her voice is not American Idol!

I am SO GLAD KELLIE IS GONE! That made my week! I hope Paris and Taylor go next. I really like Elliott, but I think probably either Chris or maybe Katharine will will. Probably Chris. I loved his song Tuesday night.

Plunder,

This show is one that you really need to watch from the beginning. it is hilarious watching some of the folks that turn out for the auditions for this show. That is what gets you hooked to watching, then by the time the competition gets serious, you have been following these hopefuls and have developed a fondness for one or two of them. It is kind of hard to turn on the TV and be interested when it is this late in the game. You should make serious plans to watch next year!!

Taylor? You don't just love Taylor?? I love him...he seems so sweet (and he's the nerdiest dancer on the planet)!! I LOVE it when he's ON, he totally gets into his performances! Did you know that they have made him change songs at the last moment SEVERAL times??? Kinda throws him off a bit, don'tcha think!!! He's also very different than anyone else.

Just trying to win ya over on him!!!!

I think Chris will get the big prize, but I think that it will be a dissservice to him - if you've heard Kelly Clarkson and Bo Bice's stories concerning the contracts of American Idol, you'll hope he loses and runs as fast as his hot bod can go!!! Poor Bo is really struggling with the whole "new" Bo they are trying to sell these days! I don't want to see them sell-out Chris...he's a hard rocker with a soft heart, not a big ole softie!!!

Ding dong the witch is dead. Which old witch? The Pickler witch. Ding dong the Pickler witch is dead.................:P:bananajump::brick::Banane57:

If I could have gotten up and celebrated without waking my 9 year old, I would have. Thank God America finally came to their senses.

And by the way........WAY TO GO CHRIS. I'm still fanning myself. HOT HOT HOT!

ya'll are too funny!! I hope that they don't change Chris...he is awesome the way he is. But....I don't think that Kelly Clarkson has suffered too much..she is huge and didn't she just write some of her own songs? I don't know..I don't keep up with it much as to how she has struggled with Idol? I just know she is super rich, and a household name

I agree with that - Kelly Clarkson is loved by everyone in our house (my hubby thinks she's hot, I think she's the best female vocalist around, my daughter idolizes her, and my two boys like her "rock songs"). She is no longer working with the American Idol group, though. She somehow got out of her contract (don't know if she sued or what happened - I'll ask hubby), and now she's doing things her way! I must say that "Hazel Eyes" wipes "Moment Like This" off the map!!!!!!

As for Bo, we have his CD (actually several of them - we're local fans of his!), and he was only able to put 1 (maybe 2, I'm not sure) of his own songs on the album. They had an idea for who he was going to be and they won't allow him the artistic freedom he wants. If you have his CD, you can definitely tell it's not his style, just from watching Idol last season!!!

I sure hope they don't do the same with Chris (although I don't think they would try to change him...his rock is a big market right now!!! I know I'd buy a CD from him, even if it was just his Idol performances!!!)

cheers!

Drew,

They are doing 2 songs each.

1 song is from their birth year and I have no idea what the other one is.

I knew 50% of your question! :biggrin1:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
